Why I chose UW Immunology

I went to middle and high school in Seattle and was very excited to return to the area. The Dept of Immunology at UW is a tight-knit and high caliber community and I was drawn to both the people and the science.

Activities and Interests

Hike/backpack, ski, boulder, bike, eat pho, eat nachos, find the best hazy IPAs at Ballard breweries

More about me

In the Ram Lab, I study the role of long noncoding RNAs in modulation of innate immune signaling. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are transcripts greater than 200 nucleotides in length that do not code for protein, but are known to play important roles in essential cell processes such as gene regulation. I am currently investigating a specific lncRNA thought to play a role in innate immune regulation, as well as conducting a screen for antiviral lncRNAs.
