Why I chose UW Immunology

I chose UW Immunology because of the large number of faculty members working on exciting and important topics, the highly supportive community, and the large number of collaborative opportunities.

Activities and Interests

I love to spend the weekends hiking in the nearby mountains and forests, especially in the Snoqualmie Pass region. I also enjoy going out to eat in Capitol Hill, Belltown, and Ballard; cidery and winery tasting in the nearby suburbs; and visiting local museums.

Advice from me

At UW Immunology, you’ll find a supportive community and an environment that fosters growth. Seattle is a fun place to live with virtually endless outdoor nature opportunities, restaurants, and festivals.

More about me

Since I am a first-year PhD student, I am still rotating and have not yet joined a lab. I am particularly interested in regulatory cells and the maintenance of peripheral tolerance, especially in the context of allergy and autoimmunity disease models. I am always happy to talk to prospective students or researchers, so please feel free to reach out if you would like more information from a current student’s perspective about UW Immunology!
