Marion Pepper, PhD, Associate Professor and Interim ChairCheck out the recent Atlantic article, “Annual COVID Shots Mean We Can Stop Counting” that discusses changes in the way we can think about COVID immunity and vaccinations. Dr. Pepper comments in the article that given the high numbers of vaccinations and infections in the US, most Americans “can be done with counting” COVID shots and can instead focus on timing of annual booster shots.

The Pepper lab has published two recent papers in Cell related to COVID immunity: “Functional SARS-CoV-2-Specific Immune Memory Persists after Mild COVID-19” (2021) and “Imprinted SARS-CoV-2-Specific Memory Lymphocytes Define Hybrid Immunity” (2022).
