Upcoming & Ongoing Events:

Pizza and Perspectives (PnP): Quarterly discussion, with pizza, historically attended by graduate students and postdocs only. The next discussion is open to all department personnel. Discussions are facilitated by diversity committee members and either a student or postdoc volunteer. We cover the ground rules to establish a safe environment for everyone to share their perspectives on various diversity, equity and inclusion issues. Past events included the following topics: 2018 Climate Survey results discussion, Gender Bias, Microaggressions, inclusive classrooms, and The Imposter Syndrome.

Careers in Immunology Panel Discussions: The Careers in Immunology Discussion series is held in the fall and spring quarters. The fall panel primarily focuses on biotech careers, while the spring panel is focused on a more diverse and varied career types including philanthropy, scientific and medical writing, patent law careers, and many others. Our goal is to provide immunology students and postdocs exposure to the careers of scientists outside of academia. Panel discussions are typically followed by a reception.
